Jack of All Trades, Master of None? | Polymath in the AI Era

Mohammad Faysal · Published

"Jack of all trades, master of none" — we have all heard it. But the proverb has a modern-life edition: Jack of all trades and master of none, but oftentimes better than master of one.

In this time of online learning and the AI hustle, learning has become easy and within everyone's reach. That is why the idea of the polymath — someone who learns many things and can do many things — is becoming popular.

I am not saying we have to learn everything or be able to do everything. But:

  • good knowledge across many fields (not mastery level),
  • mastery in two or three fields,
  • and a light understanding of the rest

can be a real plus point for us.

Which are you: a jack of all trades, or a master of one? Tell me in the comments.
